The Other Half
Basri, who is 65 of age and lives alone, participated in a match-making event called “Golek Garwo”; in
search for a life partner.
Basri (65) lives alone in a house that he inherited from his parents. His wife was deceased in 1994 and his only child lives in Kalimantan (Borneo). To find a new spouse, he participated in a match-making event called “Golek Garwo”.
After he joined that event three times and contacted several women, finally there is a woman that agreed to meet and get acquainted with him. Her name is Masiyem (62 years old). After several meetings, they decided to join a mass wedding which would be held this year. This film follows Basri and Masiyem in preparing their wedding and their married life afterwards to understand the meaning of having a life companion in elderly age.
