The Cinematic Life

In an Amazonian village, artist KOM_I spends her final moments of pregnancy with a Wampis midwife. Something other-than-human inside her body is always watching, or dreaming.

In an indigenous village of Amazonian rainforest, a young Japanese artist KOM_I, spends her final moments of pregnancy with Anita, a Wampis midwife who maintains her ancestral knowledge on natural birth. Grandchild of the victim of atomic bomb in Hiroshima, KOM_I’s journey as pregnant woman opens up her imagination, giving the feeling that something other-than-human inside her body is always watching, or dreaming, the outside world yet to see.
