Ya-Ting Hsu was born shortly before martial law was lifted in Taiwan. The Lo-Sheng Struggle was her first encounter with grassroots democracy. This experience completely changed the way she saw the world. Since then, she has focused on expressing her visions and reflecting her feelings through storytelling, and continues trying to push the boundaries of filmmaking. In her films, audiences can see her exploring the individual desire and loss to illuminate an entire era.
