MAITREE is an ethnic Lahu activist and filmmaker. In 2001, he founded the Rak Lahu group to keep youth away from drugs and promote cultural activities, including music, dance, Lahu Kung Fu practice, and filmmaking. In 2011, MAITREE joined the Holdinghands Project of Friends without Borders Foundation and directed a short film JA BOE MEANS A MAN OF FORTUNE, premiered at the Thai Short Film & Video Festival. In 2016, MAITREE became a citizen journalist at the Thai Public Broadcasting Service, creating shows that reflect the Lahu way of life.
