During the Hindu festival of Thaipusam, the film follows three protagonists: a community leader in Kuala Lumpur, a folk singer from India, and a Tamil-Malaysian living in Germany. Intertwined with the filmmaker’s own Tamil-Malaysian-German family history, their stories reveal how colonial legacies and migration continue to shape belonging across borders.
